Hotel Blaue Gams ***S - Ettal

We had a fantastic family trip, enjoying amazing views from our room's balcony and indulging in the amazing local cuisine at dinner. The wellness center offered a wonderful sauna and steam room to unwind after our adventures. The only downside was the limited parking, but it didn't take away from our very nice stay 😊

The location of the property was stunning and great, in the restaurant top of the top. And we were just next door to activities in Garmisch and the alps, the mountains and the monastery of Ettal and Ettal which is very near to King Ludwig's Hunting Lodge.

The restaurant was wonderful with great food, I tried appetising dishes. Btw, it was overlooking the mountain. The location was best possible in the really friendly area...

The parking situation could definitely use improvement!!! Maneuvering through the narrow, steep road was quite a hassle at times!!! It also seemed odd that only news channels were available in English. Hot water kettles in the rooms would have been a nice touch too!!!

Very good breakfast with a lot of hot/cold dishes. The rooms with balcony, great views over the basilica and very comfortable beds. Marvellous location, easy walk to everywhere.

The spa area was peaceful, with lemon and orange-scented water being poured onto hot stones every hour. It's the perfect place for relaxation after a day exploring garmisch, mittenwald, and neuschwanstein castle. The breakfast was fantastic too, offering everything you need to start your day!

Fine views overlooking Ettal monastery from my room's large balcony. The cozy Bavarian decor created a cute atmosphere. The room itself felt spacious and thoughtfully designed, with a great bathroom and an espresso machine. I appreciated the extensive breakfast buffet and the 'Grill Evening' dinner event, where the variety of meats and sides were good. The location of the hotel is fantastic for hiking and exploring nearby attractions. A pleasant touch was the small playground for kids and the relaxing outdoor lounge areas, perfect after a day out. The parking situation can be tricky. The narrow, steep road leading to the hotel can make it difficult if others are trying to navigate simultaneously.

I loved the fine views, but dealing with the cots was a hassle.

Perched above Ettal, this hotel offers lovely views of the monastery and spacious rooms adorned in cozy Bavarian decor. I experienced a good 'Grill Evening' dinner with an really good variety of meats. The charming outdoor seating area was perfect for relaxation after a day of exploring. A few parking challenges aside, my stay was thoroughly enjoyable!

The hotel provides a wonderful base for family adventures with 7 kids, and the fine scenery really added to our experience. The restaurant serves delicious food, and the staff was friendly. We loved hiking in the nearby Graswang Valley!

For dads, it would be great to have a small indoor play area for kids.
